Just a very basic recipe that takes 10 minutes. Not a whole lot of work was put into this, just quick, fun and thought it would be worth a short post!
Store-bought pizza dough has never really been my friend. I love the way it smells, and working with it is always fun, but I can never seem to cook the dough evenly all the way through and it sort of ruins the pizza.
Naan on the other hand isn’t a traditonal crust or dough, but it just the right size for a personal pizza and it’s healthy. I used pesto as a base (leftover from my Fresh Basil Pesto post a few days ago) and threw some veggies, cheese and pepper on top. Very, very pleased with the result.
Ingredients
- 1 piece of naan
- 1/2 cup pesto
- 3 cherry tomatoes, sliced thinly
- 1/3 cup broccoli, without stems and chopped
- 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, finely grated
- Pepper to taste
Method
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Spread the pesto evenly on one side of the naan with a spatula. Sprinkle shredded parmesan across the surface.
Place tomatoes and broccoli evenly on the naan. Add pepper, if desired. Bake directly on the rack for 7-10 minutes until edges begin to look light brown.
Voila! Very fast, very tasty dinner at no expense to your wallet.
oh what a great idea! Its so much nicer then just using pesto in my pasta! And easier then trying to make my own pizza from scratch:-)
My husband loves naan bread – he’ll love this recipe!:-)
Thanks! Hope you enjoy 🙂
