The Vegetarian Ginger is a food blog based out of Toronto aimed at giving vegetarians the versatility and freedom of an unrestricted diet. Meals that give you the best bang for your buck, that are (mostly) healthy, flavourful and that meat-eaters wouldn’t hesitate to try. I want readers not to see vegetarianism as a dietary restriction but as the opposite—it’s an excuse to try new things, roll up your sleeves and be creative.

I am what’s called a lacto-ovo vegetarian, most easily explained as “I eat nothing with a face.” Eggs, cheese, honey; these are all OK by me. A good number of my recipes are vegan, lactose-free and gluten-free as well. I try to have a good balance between breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert, including as many food groups as I can.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing about your mouth-watering experiences.

Sharing recipes/photos: For recipes, a simple link back is much appreciated. I work hard on each post and every photo is taken by me. If you wish to use my photography, please e-mail me (all my info is on the Contact page) for permission.

    1. Thanks so much! I don’t know if I could ever be completely vegan, cheese is my kryptonite. That’s great though, hopefully you can find some food that works for you 🙂

      1. Believe it or not, I used to eat cheese and ice cream everyday. If you told me just over a year ago that I’d give these up I would have thought you were crazy. Celeste:)
